Welcome to

JAPAN

Missionaries, William and Jo Ruck, live and serve in Nagoya, Japan. Nagoya is home to just over 2 million people. However, it is at the center of the Chukyu Metropolitan Area (中京地方) which has a population of over 9 million. And while Nagoya may not be the first place to come to people's minds when they think about Japan it's a bustling center of industry for Japan as a whole.

Located a few minutes walk from the Nagoya train station is Christ Bible Institute. It was founded by Michael Oh in 2010 and in the years since then 25 students have graduated and the student body stands at 15 currently. More than just a seminary though, CBI is home to a variety of ministries.

Within CBI William is the Technology and Logistics Coordinator. That sounds like a strange title but William’s role is to oversee the upkeep and improvement of CBI’s infrastructure to help move forward the mission of the seminary, as well as coordinate the logistical details of the different events and programs we have here. William does a little bit of everything.

The mission of CBI is to equip Christians in Japan for the work of Gospel ministry. To that end we not only have our seminary degree program but a variety of non-degree training programs as well. We also host different conferences and events throughout the year to help equip local Christians to be more effective disciple makers.
